What types of goals besides the original ones do you think should be added? Maybe there could be optional goals that give an advantage in the current scenario?

Some examples are:
"5 consultants that have all skills makes the GPs offices more effective"
"Win level by curing more than 50 patients in a month"
"Win level when there are 40 patients visiting a toilet simultaneously"

How strange goals can you imagine? Wink

Good idea imho, they should give extra money or raise ur rep, like "Cure 50 patients in 1 month to get grant=10000$" or "Train 5 Doctors to Consultants to raise ur rep slightly", or maybe few objectives for only 1 reward. Also maybe other rewards like for completing objectives u get fully trained Consultant etc.

It could also be special criteria on some missions that you need a certain reputation to be able to hire consultants at all, and that they leave if you go below it again for example. Or that they require a pool table in the staff room.

Yeah seems fun!

I don't think we should get this in for a while though but it should definitely go on 'the list'.

(By the way, I don't know if anybody wants to actually make a maintain a list of suggested features? It won't help us anytime soon but in the future we could look at it and decide what to implement)

I think this would be a good idea, because I find that after a while, Theme Hospital gets really boring, with it being almost exactly the same thing over and over again.

I made one half a year ago (http://www.mobstar.biz/openTH/forums/viewtopic.php?t=57), but I've forgotten about it during the "downtime". It's probably better to make a list at "the wiki kinda thing" so that everyone can add things. I'll make the page right now.

Edit: Apparently I'm not allowed to make new pages anymore, so it'll have to wait...

Ah that list is good!

I've increased your permissions but it still thought you could create pages, odd!

Anyone else play Constructor? I'm sure yous have! That idea reminds me of the way that if you got 5 tenants of the same type then the 5th was special and gave you a special bonus like reduced intrest on loans, stop opponents hospitals working, longer prison sentances. So something like that may work well (even though I didn't really like it in Constructor cause the opponents always get there before me!)

How about every nth psy, res, surg does something speical? Prob need to be more than 5 though if your hospitals are anything like mine.

Hi everyone,
first of all great work on all these projects, especially CorsixTH which is already running amazingly fluently!

I know it's still a long way but, I just have to add these :P

-employ X consultants/surgeons/whatever
-research efficiency of all drugs to at least X %
-cover up X epidemics
-shoot X rats
-handle X emergencies/cure X emergency patients
-cure X patients with disease Y
-build room X y times
-sell X drinks
-pleasing X VIPs
-having object X y times (what could make sense: beds, benches, drink machines, toilets, videogames to keep staff happy etc.)

and some additional level criteria:
-earthquakes: no/yes/lots
-epidemics: no/yes
-emergencies: no/yes/lots*
-rich people/poor people
-more garbage, more vomiting than usual
-no money
-limited number of consultant/doctor/surgeon/only slow handymen/whatever
-higher percentage of some diseases
-2nd floor would be nice, as mentioned elsewhere in this forum
-need for electricity*

*what I would like to see would be frequent emergencies which you cannot denie (later in the level). So you would have to build an emergency department.

Another idea I had is that you need to produce your own electricity for whatever reasons. You'd have to place an expensive power plant in a special room or maybe in the research department. Depending on the number of machines you have, the capacity would be exhausted and you'd have to build a second one. The power plant get's damaged a bit each month, until it drops out, so your machines will not work until it is repaired. There is also a chance to get it damaged by earthquakes, it can not blow up, though. Maybe it will drop out more often once you reach the capacity limit.

Really interesting would be an already running hospital that you'd have to manage. That's where the 'shoot X rats' could be used if it's really dirty.
This could also be implemented as just a savegame.

okay that's alot but i do feel better now :D
